BACKGROUND:
My dear friends at the Mokelumne Glen Vineyard (that I’ve worked with for years), have always specialized in Germanic varieties. Vineyard was planted in the 1980’s and this year I was finally able to get some of their very limited and coveted DORNFELDER for this one-off special edition. This rare and wonderfully deep colored (one of the deepest I’ve ever seen) Austrian variety is very fruit forward and electric, but has fine and light tannins. This is our 14th wine in the limited edition MILK FED-series, where I get to experiment with unusual varieties.

STYLE:
Very fruit forward, electric chillable red with extremely fine tannins.
