BACKGROUND:
I wanted to honor my late grandfather, who was my introduction to wine and was a great Bordeaux-lover, by showcasing small batch Cabernet Sauvignon from great vineyards. Oftentimes here in California, there’s too much emphasis on Napa and Sonoma, but Cabernet is grown all over this state in great smaller vineyards. These wines will be one-off’s showcasing these smaller vineyards and only available for the mailing list and wine club members.

STYLE:
All the classic markers of a great Cabernet - cassis and dark fruits, in a velvety and enveloping palate with a long finish from this cold climate region. Only 50% new oak, so not the usual oak-heavy rendition. Despite its volume and heft, speaks with a soft and gentle voice. This will age for a long time, but is also ready to drink with a healthy decant.

Not filtered, so expect some slight sediment in bottom.
